Level 4 BDC Student, Tooba Fatima, Wins Outstanding UG Poster Award!

Level 4 BDC student, Tooba Fatima, presented her poster entitled “The association of excess adiposity during pregnancy with maternal inflammatory and cardiometabolic profiles” on March 28, 2018 as part of the Department of Pediatrics McMaster Child Health Research Day. Tooba was presented with her honour of Outstanding Undergraduate Poster Award at the ceremony that afternoon.
This event includes poster and oral presentations from undergraduates, graduates, research and clinical fellows and pediatric residents, so Tooba’s research was viewed by a broad spectrum of trainees including basic scientists and clinicians. Tooba’s presentation was ranked #1 out of 18 posters presented by undergraduates from different science programs across campus.
Tooba is a BIOMEDDC 4A15 Thesis student under the expert supervision of Dr. Stephanie Atkinson. Tooba says, “this wouldn’t have been possible without the support and guidance of Dr. Atkinson and the BHIP study team!” Please join us in congratulating Tooba on this fantastic achievement, and in thanking our McMaster researchers, like Dr. Atkinson, for the valuable time and mentor-ship they afford our BDC students!
